A Star Wars Must See!

ANDOR (SERIES 1 & 2)

Initially, I did wonder if we really needed a prequel series to a prequel spin-off film, but based on the quality of that film (Rogue One) I was more than willing to give it a go.

The writing is fantastic, with all of the characters given room to grow and some choice lines to impart, delivered by an all-in cast. This is a spy thriller that just happens to be in the Star Wars universe and it works well because of it.

Some might lament the lack of Jedi, but then this period of time building up to A New Hope is famously void of Jedi and so it is entirely befitting. Though the plot follows the titular protagonist and other rebels from the senate down, the villains here aren't simply one-note 'baddies', they are given nuance and depth, every bit as much as the heroes.

If season one felt a little drawn out at times, season two more than makes up for it.

This is quality television and the benchmark for future Star Wars content.
